Why is the board rotated 180 degrees for some games. This really messes with your mind.

I'm not sure if this is the same question -- but is it possible to change whether the direction of play is clockwise or counterclockwise? It seems to me this could easily be made a preference that each player could choose. Since each player sees a separate display, one could appear to be playing clockwise, while the other player sees the game proceeding counterclockwise.
