We’re working hard to fix the connection issues some of you are experiencing since our switch to HTTPS. To help us identify and resolve these problems, please share your details in this thread. Include:

Your browser (e.g., Chrome, Safari)

Your device (e.g., iPhone, Windows PC)

Your network (e.g., Wi-Fi, 4G, company network)

When the disconnect happens (e.g., game start, chat)
This information is crucial for us to pinpoint the cause of the “Lost Connection” errors.

Szia! Jelenleg maga az oldal be sem tölt androidon.(Google Chrome) Iphonerol (Safari)tökéletesen működik de android készüléken egyszerűen mintha el tünt volna .A kezdő oldal után hófehér háttér és nem történik semmi.A készülék naprakész mindenben. Eddig játék közben is ledobott,de ez szinte ki szàmíthatlan ,hogy mikor dob le a rendszer.
Remélem mihamarabb helyre áll, és sikerül megoldani a problémát.. ☺️

Can we PLEASE  have an update on any "fixes"?

We understand connection issues can be frustrating, but repeatedly posting the same or similar complaints, especially when they target moderators, developers, or the platform, is not constructive and goes against forum guidelines.

The developers are aware of the reconnect problem and are actively working on stability improvements as part of the site revamp.  This work takes time and is being applied progressively across all games.

Please be patient and allow the team to complete these updates.  Continued posting of duplicate or hostile comments will not speed up fixes, it will simply lead to more of your posts being rejected.

Two issues. 
If I attempt to brighten my screen or do any other task the connection is lost. 

It seems that it only happens while playing a real match, it never seems to happen when playing a guest.
I have listed my disconnections prior, but now it has happened so often that it would take more time to report than trying to actually complete a game. You'll see I've listed several disconnects prior and it usually happens when I am winning. It is so annoying. Easily 100 points gone due to disconnect issues. BOO

Honestly, I’m having trouble believing this is a random issue. It feels a lot like I’m purposely being disconnected. I know there are cheat programs and now I’m only being disconnected when I’m about to win. This scenario has happened all day. I’m about to win and suddenly I’m disconnected. It never seems to happen early in a game.

Thanks for sharing the details earlier, Safari, iPhone, Wi-Fi, and the note about screen adjustments causing disconnects.  That kind of info really helps the team narrow down potential causes.

As for the feeling that you’re only being disconnected when you’re about to win, I know it can feel that way, but I can reassure you that it’s not targeted or intentional.

Hopefully the developers can isolate the issue soon.  In the meantime, trying another browser or switching to mobile data might help reduce disconnections.

browsers chrome, desktop windows 10, wy-fi flash fiber 5g. some times it will hit first game and you may play 5.but its going to happen. I use to play hours without this happening. now losted all my points

Disconnected twice this AM, 9/12/25 at 1030am EST. As I am about to win on doubles, forcing me to take a loss AGAIN. Chrome browser Mac book, its not my wifi.
In the middle of games usually when I’m winning. It used to give time to reconnect. Now it just boots me out of the game and gives me an L. I’m on safari and sometimes chrome with stable connection to the internet otherwise.
9/12/25 disconnected two times in a row around 3:19 and 3:20 pm, EST.

What i don't understand is why you don't program the scoring to recognize a server disconnection and not award points or give points to whoever is not on the clock at that time. That seems simple enough to me.
I also don't understand that implementing this solution is so complicated
For the last two days I cannot connect to the games. Tells me server is down. What should I do?
Recently it has become a major problem.  I use safari on a Mac.  I have wifi with 1G speed.  I never lose connection except with this game. I lose the points and the game and nothing is done to correct the loss.

I can't play at certain times of the day. The site keeps disconnecting me.
I'm losing a lot of points. I've already done everything the moderators suggested: clearing my cache, changing browsers, restarting my internet connection, etc.
This isn't a local internet issue, but rather the server logging me out. I need help from a moderator.
The site logs out mid-match, and the message "Unable to connect to the server. The server may be undergoing maintenance" keeps appearing.

After a long time, I manage to log in again, but the site logs out again.
I play curling mostly and more often am losing my accumulated points putting me back to zero - I will not be renewing my membership if this continues - this is years lost if I do not renew -

The disconnection occurs several times in the game. Sometimes I can't play 2 consecutive games without disconnecting.

my browser is Google Chrome, it is disconnected when it is connected, the Internet is fiber optic and it works well. It is from my PC, it connects me, welcome.

I play on my phone.  I'm using a Google Pixel 8 pro.  My issues with the disconnects are when I leave the browser and  go back, it gives me the lost connection error, no matter if I leave the screen for two seconds or more.   Also just switching from WIFI to 5G will disconnect the game, while before it wouldn't.

Before these issues, I could go reply to a text, answer a call and do anything and it would always let me keep playing but not anymore.   Now I'm stuck playing for 75-80 mins without being able to do anything else but curl.

I can take a video screenshot so you can see exactly what happens.
im on windows 10 my internet providr is bell aliant in eastern canada and im on firefox chrome or microsoft edge as my browsers. i cannot connect wit this game please please help me

Hi, I've been disconnected multiple times in last couple of weeks.  
Browser - have tried multiple (Chrome, Edge and Firefox) all have failed numerous times.   
Device - windows laptop - Windows 11 Home, version 23H2,
Network - normally home Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac).   It's worked fine in the past.  
Have also tried mobile network with same connection issues.   Again, in the past this has worked fine.  
Any solutions please?
Disconnections a few times this week. I always play on Safari on my ~1yo iPhone. Disconnection has always happened mid end in the 2nd or 3rd end. A traveling rock freezes until disconnected message appears-no different than if I actually lose internet connection
The game always disconnects when we started playing after we accept the challenge. Sometimes we can play a full match but most of the time it gets disconnected. 
 I use both chrome and safari and I play it on my iPad. At the beginning of this problem I was thinking it could be people disconnecting matches after start losing. Maybe they could be using some kind of apps to do it, but now I believe it’s just a game that is not working well. 
Please I’m looking forward for answer. send me an update as soon as possible .

Devise: iPhone 13 with current version of IOs. 
Happened ~5-6minutes ago when played a GO game with a player “Denny…” in a significantly situation. The game suddenly lost connection. I lost the game. Is this something interesting?  That is why some player suspected the opponent player used some disconnection software. It feels that way.  If a game is disqualified, no one will lose points and no one will have interest to do funny tricks if that is true.
I have connection issues. I lose all games because of it. It's not funny any more. This game should give relaxing. But when playing 1 minute bullet and mine connection here goes slow while i have 1000MB/second. That's weird. It comes from this site. How can that be while i bet others don't have speed connection like me and still can move normal speed how it suppose to be. What's wrong with this site to some that feel these issues. Something is off here. It feel personal too. Because it happens over and over again.

We've asked you to provide information about your hardware or software that could help us identify connection problems, rather than just describing the obvious symptoms.

We've reviewed your last 140 games and found 5 disconnections not in your favor (3.57%) and 4 disconnections that were. This means the lost points pretty much balance out.

Why HTTPS Can Be Tricky:
HTTPS (Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure) encrypts our connections, making FlyOrDie safer. However, this encryption can cause disconnects on weak networks (e.g., mobile data, public Wi-Fi).

Device Compatibility: 
Older smartphones or browsers might struggle with this newer technology. We can't directly see these specific issues.

Errors Are Hard to Trace: 
When you see "Lost Connection," we don't get detailed error messages—just that notification. This often stems from network issues, outdated browsers, or conflicts with HTTPS encryption (e.g., WebSocket connections). Without details about your device, browser, or network, we can't narrow it down.

What We're Doing to Improve:
-We're optimizing our servers to make HTTPS connections more stable.
-We're exploring technologies like Cloudflare to reduce global delays.
-We're building diagnostic tools to detect errors faster.

Please continue to share as many details as possible about your system environment when connection issues occur. It helps us tremendously with troubleshooting!

i constantly get disconnected. i tried microsoft google chrome and firefox browsers. nothing helps. i use bell aliant as y internet provider and it happens as soon as i fet on. please fix this ongoing frustrating service. thank you

Yesterday I received an inaccurate comment from someone on your tech team. Then they locked the thread before I could respond. It may be important because that team member misinterpreted that on July 15 I was awarded points because my opponent got disconnected. I won two games that day. One-my opponent left voluntarily because I was ahead 5-0 after the first end. The other was 3 consecutive 2 end games that we completed. All other games played that day I lost points because of disconnection.

However, as we've explained in our previous communications, achieving this in a live, real-time gaming environment is incredibly complex and involves many variables. Hi percentage of games in last 3 days i am receiving the "re connect" message  at various times during matches
Browser is Phoenix, Chrome and Opera mini.

Disconnection often as immediately as the game starts. 

Also most of the time when I am just about to win.

Sometimes disconnects several games in a row making me lose over 100 points making my rating to plummet.

Sometimes its so bad such that I simply cannot play any game literally for that day or rather I simply give up playing and opt to play other checkers platforms.

If that helps, solve the problem soonest its getting worse and utterly annoying.

I don't care losing all points as long as you solve the problem.

The Backgammon landing page loads (

Heute Morgen So 14.09. von 7.45-8.30 war der Server entweder gar nicht erreichbar oder es gab wieder mal diverse Abbrüche.  Ich spiele mit dem IPad in Safari.

Firefox (version 139.0.4 , not the latest but connection interrupted when i had the latest available so something tells me that doesn't matter that much)

(I clear browser's temporary cache every day)

Usally the lost connection occurs mid game OR when the opponent is losing his/her turn (so i wait 60 seconds for his/her move, then while it's my turn to play, connection is lost) OR if i switch to another browser tab (not switching between apps, like having 2-3 tabs open, one being a YT playlist of music, i switch when i want to change the music and when i return to the game's tab, it alwaya trying to re-connect; if i switch tabs for more than 7-8 seconds connection is lost and i have to re-connect to the lobby)

I have lost some 150 Point already in 100% winning positions by disconnecting being a very experienced player (53%).

You should consuder a Bonus in Points (+100) for Players like me getting constantly disconnected!

Backgammon Server down?

Just wanted to logg into a Backgammon room to play again - "no connection possible". I can logg in and play other games, though, Memory for example. What's wrong with Backgammon tonight? It seems to not exist anymore ... ? Am I the only one with this problem?

Not had many disconnections for a while up untill recently the last few days,  I appreciate they can happen and once every now and again is fine but this is happening too often.

You guys finally managed to fix it! Wow!
After ONE year of not working properly, it's working again as in the past.
Bowling is still disconnecting, but I don't care.
If it keeps working for a few weeks, you might consider closing this thread.
Unfortunately it took a long time and many players have already given up on this site. It should have been fixed in a week, instead of blaming the users, lol

ℹ️ The Timeline: You're absolutely correct that the initial stability issues began with our major infrastructure migration in April, not a year ago. We sincerely apologize that resolving those deep, systemic changes took the better part of the year.

ℹ️ "Blaming Users": Asking players to check their local firewalls or router settings during the migration was never an attempt to assign blame. It was a standard, necessary diagnostic step to eliminate potential conflicts between your local setup and our new, strict security protocol (HTTPS). We had to rule out external conflicts before we could isolate the deep server-side problems.

We're happy the fix is holding, and we'll keep chasing those final, pesky issues—including the remaining disconnects in Bowling.

Phew! I thought it was me.... I'm on windows platform with google platform... Comcast I've started playing checkers so that's working (although I'm not good at the game... :-) )

Szeretném jelezni, hogy a játék nagyon sokszor kidobál teljesen indokolatlanul. Nem tudok vele mit kezdeni, mert a meccseket automatikusan bukom emiatt, hiába tudok rögtön visszacsatlakozni.(Remélem ezek miatt nem kapok további büntetést)  Az internetkapcsolatom teljesen stabil, szóval nem nálam van a gond. Tudtommal nem én vagyok az egyetlen játékos, aki ezzel szenved, és remélem, hogy lesz rá valami megoldás a közeljövőben.

Sajnáljuk, de ellenőriztük a játékmenetedet, és nem észleltünk semmilyen kapcsolatkimaradást az elmúlt 14 napban, de néhány régebbi, júniusi sakkkapcsolati hibát igen. Kérlek, légy pontosabb. Köszönöm.
Beyond a joke now -get a couple of good days and  the same old reconnect issues start - i know full well the moderators will not publish this post - if they did they would be edited (not showing the "real comments" made by subscribers) but it is "posted" to show google how  you are hiding issues from subscribers _ we were told quite clearly back in april u are "working on the problem" despite request for updates -all requests have been ignored and not published
