Hi Kelcas,
What you're describing is a technical phenomenon known as lag or latency. It refers to a delay in the connection between the player's device (whether it's a computer, tablet, or smartphone) and the server that hosts the game.
It's important to understand that the game clock itself doesn't actually slow down, speed up, or run backwards. What happens is that the connection between your device and the server temporarily stalls.
During this interruption, your actions aren't being transmitted properly to the server. Once the connection is restored and your data is successfully synchronised, the game resumes as normal. This can result in sudden jumps or skipped moments, which may feel like time distortion, but it's actually just the system catching up.
Lag is often caused by a weak or overloaded internet connection, high ping values due to long distances between the player and the server, or interference in the network, especially when using Wi-Fi.
If you're experiencing frequent lag, switching to a wired connection instead of Wi-Fi and closing unnecessary background programmes can help improve stability. Restarting your router or checking with your internet provider may also resolve underlying issues.
Kind regards, John
